Singing in Europe

I had the pleasure in June of 2016 to sing with a British organization, RunBySingers in Spain for one week and it turned out to be a great way to see a part of Europe, this case Spain, and enjoy the company of forty amateur singers while singing Spanish Renaissance repertoire in historic settings. The sites are varied each season along with the leadership. The singers were dedicated and skilled and the time was spent rehearsing, enjoying each other’s company, enjoying fine dining all the while singing repertoire very close to my heart: music of the sixteenth century. I wanted to call this organization to the attention of anyone who is interested in choral music as well as interested in historic settings and fine leadership. I am including their description along with a video explaining the quality of the choirs that come together on site to sing quality repertoire and explore local areas of interest as well as enjoy interesting company.

Here is the description of RunBySingers from Nick Couchman, the founder and CEO:

“Run by Singers offers singing vacations all across Europe with a typical choice of ten different events a year open to individual singers or groups of friends. You are not tied into a travel package or Festival – you are free to make your own travel arrangements and join a group of 50-60 like-minded singers. The company is Run by two singers – an alto and a bass – hence the name. This year features visits to Barcelona, Assisi and Venice”.
