A warm Welcome to all the loyal patrons of the Burlington Civic Chorale as we move into our eighteenth season of choral music-making in the Halton and Hamilton regions. It has been a privilege and honour to serve as the director of the BCC, watching the growth in artistry and achievement as we tackle the great challenges in choral repertoire. One of the many joys of choral music is its ability to grow with each performance and each ensemble. Every time we arrive at the performance, after months of study and practice, we share with you our wonder and delight unearthed in the score as it unfolds before our ears.
Our 2011-2012 season will feature something old and something new. We will feature the Rossini, Petite Messe Solennelle, in the fall, a work we thoroughly enjoyed singing six years ago. For the May offering, we will sample many of the nineteenth and twentieth-century's finest composers as they wax eloquent over the beauties of nature. As always, we revisit our favorite Broadway and show tunes every Valentine's Day.
The Chorale is proud to host its young colleagues from the Children's Choir of Burlington at the Valentine Cabaret, and if you have not already, you will want to join our circle of friends as we thrill to the sound of the human voice singing music that has enriched lives for centuries. Please join us and be part of the celebration.
