Community arts organizations are only as strong as their loyal audiences and the Burlington Civic Chorale certainly lives and thrives on that reality. We are proud to have been one of the initial recipients of grants from the City of Burlington Arts and Culture Fund enabling us to grow our programming for greater community presence, as well as commission a new piece of Canadian choral music.

Any amount helps us achieve our goals.

Consider being a part of our story by contributing any amount today and help keep the choral arts thriving in Burlington.

Note from Burlington Civic Chorale regarding COVID19

With sadness, we announce the difficult decision to suspend our live in-person rehearsals and concerts until further notice due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

As our Board reflected on this situation, it was guided by three considerations:

  • the well-being of our singers, our audience, and their communities
  • the experiences of regions where the virus is active, and
  • the guidelines of public health authorities on best practices for avoiding infection and community transmission

We are happy to say that we have endured the challenges of COVID-19 and have for the time being reinvented ourselves as a virtual choir.   Our weekly rehearsals, which normally take place in the sanctuary of St. Christopher’s Anglican Church, are now conducted using the social media platform, Zoom.

Thanks to the outstanding leadership of our artistic director, Dr. Gary Fisher, our piano accompanist, Jennifer Goodine, the creativity of our Board of Directors, and the continued financial support of our singers and sponsors, we have had a musically successful 2020/2021.

We will use everything we’ve learned to keep bringing wonderful music to Burlington, Hamilton and surrounding Regions.  We eagerly await until we can be together again in-person, once physical distancing restrictions are lifted, and it is safe to return to live, in-person concerts.

Until such time keep safe and well;  and please enjoy our virtual choral offerings. Our most recent virtual offering is our spring virtual concert, “The Road Home”.
