Two immensely popular classics from the choral repertoire: Bach’s Magnificat and Vivaldi’s Gloria RV588 (the “other Gloria”). These two jewels of the eighteenth century give us an exciting sound map of the Baroque, choral tapestry, filled with exquisite melodies and rich harmonic texture all packaged up within driving rhythmic energy. The BCC will be accompanied by a chamber ensemble much the same as heard in Leipzig in Bach’s Thomas Kirche. Additionally, there will be a small collection of Christmas favorites to set the upcoming seasonal holiday as do both of these works.
